New/Mode’s advocacy & civic engagement platform helps…
Make your issues heard before the Quebec election period
There is only about a month left before the Quebec election period starts. Now is the time to make your issues heard to declared candidates. At New/Mode we know that when we organize and mobilize our community, we can create real change for all. Before the election period starts, here are two ways you can engage your community and put your issue on the agenda using New/Mode.
1. Lock in support 🔒
New/Mode's Petition Action is the perfect tool for mobilizing your supporters around important legislation. With our candidate data coupled with the Petition Action, your supporters can easily contact provincial candidates to pledge their support.
Our petition tool was designed to be a low barrier “ask”, which means that the level of engagement needed to take action is relatively low. Supporters only need to observe, support, and endorse the cause to take part.
Here is why pledges are powerful organizing tools:
▶️Let you know where candidates stand on your issues and can help you mobilize your supporters.
▶️Help you lock in support from candidates who are only somewhat supportive of your issues and force the hand of those who are wavering.
▶️It is a great way to establish relationships between your supporters and their future elected officials for ongoing campaigning.
When used strategically, pledges can be an important part of your election-related work and an incredibly powerful way to engage and energize your supporters!
With New/Mode’s platform you can increase engagement and add powerful message amplification to your pledge campaigns by sending your supporter pledges and a custom message directly to their local candidates.

2. Team up with Local Papers and Social Media 🙏
Expand your community’s influence by having them email local newspapers, get their letters printed and send messages through social media to local candidates. With New/Mode your supporters can easily send their letters and stories to local papers. We know decision-makers read their local papers.
▶️Automates the submission process, so your supporters can get their stories to editors with a few simple clicks.
▶️Embed the tool in a campaign action site or create a single-day news response for your most trusted supporters to further your narrative.
Whether running in-person rallies, or effective digital campaigns, make sure you’re actively pitching political media.
The more you let the media know about your position, the louder they will make it to those who matter.
New/Mode's digital advocacy software is already being used by organizations across Quebec to connect their supporters with Members of the National Assembly and other decision-makers. Our data set is updated regularly, so you can be confident that your message will reach the right candidate and get them on the record about your issues.
After the election period starts, third-party organizations are more restricted in the campaigning they are able to do. So the most important thing you can do is get started engaging now to build momentum for the issues your supporters care about.
Once the election period starts, you can still use New/Mode to maintain engagement with your supporters, by using our candidate dataset to reach out for answers to candidate questionnaires, among other opportunities
It’s important that your organization continues to engage with your supporters within the bounds of the election laws so you maintain a consistent relationship with the people you will rely on to pressure the government after the election.
Oh, and here’s one last idea to keep that consistent engagement up: use our candidate dataset after the election period to connect with elected candidates before they are sworn in as MNAs. Be the first constituents on their agenda as newly elected MNAs!

This day is the deadline for candidates to be declared but not to drop out. As press conferences and announcements continue we’ll be updating our dataset to add new candidates and remove those who have withdrawn from the race. |
New/Mode is reviewing all the public sources of data daily and we will add new data within two days of it being posted.
Since this data is by its nature changing and improving over time, it’s best to not display candidate info on your action forms.
New/Mode’s platform provides a variety of features that allow organizations to put their issues on the agenda and reach decision-makers. We offer tools for online petitions, email campaigns, letters to the editor, personalized calls, and more.
🎉Our multi-channel advocacy and civic engagement platform have supported election efforts all around the world, and we are happy to see leading progressive organizations using our toolset to protect the democratic process and support grassroots initiatives for change.
