Shamus Reid

Shamus is New/Mode's Co-Founder and COO. He is a former political organizer, communicator and strategy consultant, and held senior leadership roles in the student movement and for political parties. He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, with a focus on Leadership and Change Management.

Shamus served in senior directorships for three multi-million dollar non-profits, credited with government policy changes that resulted in millions of dollars in new social program spending. He has also led trainings for thousands of activists in effective government relations and persuasive communications.

Prior to completing his MBA and joining New/Mode, Shamus served as a strategic communications consultant for The NOW Group—where he led the development of a new digital business strategy. He has worked extensively with labour and social equity organizations, and political parties. His organizing experience and deep interest in nurturing more nimble, responsive and scalable social movements, led him to co-found New/Mode.
