She brings with her over 6 years of experience in workshop facilitation, grassroots organizing and non-profit groups in both Vancouver and Toronto.
Joanne studied at the University of Victoria with a focus on Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She recognizes the responsibility to engage in advocacy work and collaboration for policy change on these Unceded First Nation lands with the privileges that settlers walk with, challenging the systems that empower us as a default from colonization.
Joanne has worked in production and operations for Pride Toronto, Vancouver Queer Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, TD International Jazz Festival and Pemberton Music Festival.
In her spare time, Joanne enjoys perfecting the pleat on her dumplings, clearing the millions of to-do lists on her phone and writing standup comedy.
